Rampart’s Editorial Standards

Established in 2025, Rampart News is an independent news outlet that publishes investigative commentary on the companies, leaders, and power structures shaping Australian business and finance.

Our aim is to produce in-depth journalism our subscribers can trust and learn from, in an entertaining way. Each Rampart story undergoes rigorous processes, editorial review, and in-house editing.

We focus on:

  1. Accuracy and integrity: Rampart is committed to the factual accuracy of its work and believes in publicly admitting to its mistakes. Any errors of fact are promptly and conspicuously corrected. To request a correction, contact us at hello@rampart.news
  2. Independence: Rampart and its journalists are politically unaffiliated, while none of its staff journalists directly/actively own shares in ASX-listed companies or any financial products they write about. Rampart is operated and owned as a standalone journalism business, with no incentive to push related products (such as real estate portals or streaming services).
  3. Transparency: Rampart and its journalists refrain from using deceptive or unfair means of gathering material. All conflicts of interest, potential or real, are declared to readers. Rampart maintains a public register of any external income (such as speaking fees) its journalists receive from corporate interests. Any sponsored travel is also declared. Rampart’s approach is to give its subscribers all relevant information, enabling them to draw informed conclusions about the publication’s motivations and standards.

Our relationships with advertisers and sponsors

Rampart maintains a small, curated group of advertisers and sponsors relevant to our audience. Advertising and sponsor placements are labeled clearly so our readers know what is editorial and what is paid for.

While we show our advertisements and sponsor logos within the context of our journalism, our commercial arrangements are kept entirely separate from our editorial coverage. Our advertising and sponsor partners have no influence over our journalism.

Complaints and corrections

To file a complaint or correction, please contact us at hello@rampart.news

Complaints process: Upon receiving a complaint, a Rampart team member will gather relevant details. The Editor determines whether further action is warranted. If required, Rampart’s legal team will assess the complaint. In these instances, Rampart will act on the legal team’s advice and guidance.

Corrections process: Upon receiving a request for a correction, a Rampart team member will gather the relevant details. The request is reviewed in consultation with the Editor. Once an error is established, the correction is made. If the correction is substantial, a visible correction note is added to the article explaining what changed and why.  If the correction is legally sensitive, Rampart’s legal team will review the correction. In these instances, Rampart will act on the legal team’s advice and guidance.
