River Cafe's Ruthie Rogers on Keating, Trump and her hit podcast
The restaurant legend joins Joe Aston on Rampart Talks.
Legendary British chef Ruth Rogers says social media food influencers are spoiling the dining experience.
"Why would you go to a restaurant, order something, not eat it, and then unpack your bags and take out big cameras? It's not fair really, it's not a kind thing to do," she said, noting the trend towards anonymous, online engagement with restaurants somewhat diminished the discovery and excitement of dining out.
In an interview with Rampart's Joe Aston, the owner of London's celebrated River CafΓ© and the woman who first hired Jamie Oliver also said that she resents the abrasive image of another celebrity chef, her friend Gordon Ramsay.
"I love Gordon. I think he's a great cook, but I've said to him, 'You're not doing our profession any favors by creating an image of what a chef is.'"
77-year old Rogers sat down for the Rampart Talks vodcast in April, as the restaurant on the banks of the Thames in Fulham whirred away during the lunchtime trade.
